Where Sandustry Saves Your Game
The Windows save folder, and the in-game export that works everywhere — straight from the developer's pinned post.

On Windows, saves live in %APPDATA%\sandustry\saves. Press Win + R, paste that in, and
hit Enter. To hand a save to someone else, use the game’s own export instead: Esc → Load →
pick the save → Export.
Export from inside the game
This is the route the developers point people to, and it is the one to use when you are sending a save to support or to a friend:
- Press Esc to open the pause menu
- Click Load
- Select the save you want
- Click Export
It produces a single file you can attach anywhere, and it does not care which operating system you are on.
The Windows folder
When you need the raw files — backing up before a patch, or copying a whole save set to another machine — the folder is:
%APPDATA%\sandustry\savesPress Win + R, paste it, press Enter. Windows expands %APPDATA% for you, so there is no
need to hunt through AppData\Roaming by hand.
Back up before you update
Sandustry is in Early Access and patches land often. Copying the saves folder somewhere else before you update takes a few seconds and is the only thing that makes a bad patch recoverable. Do it before installing an update, not after you notice a problem.
