Big Ambitions Blueprints

Blueprints are the larger half of the Workshop. Sort by subscribers and roughly three of every four items are layouts rather than mods, and for good reason: furnishing a shop is the slowest part of opening one, and a blueprint made by someone who has already optimised the walkways does it in a click. The catch is the building code.

Reading the building code

Every rentable unit has a code that fixes its size and capacity — the community’s Buildings table lists A1 and A2 at 75 m² with room for 15 customers, C1/C2 at 225 m² for 30, D2 at 285 m² for 40, and M1 at 1000 m² for 75. Offices run A3, C1, C2, D2, J1, K1; warehouses and factories H, I, P, Q; homes B1, F1, L1, N1.

Three families are not on that table because they came later: cinemas use S1–S3, theatres R1–R3, and the Hamptons mansions added in 1.0 carry T codes. The gallery below shows which codes each business actually gets built in — M1 for anything that needs floor space, A1 for a first shop.

Before you load one

Two things Hovgaard said when 0.11 rewired the Workshop:

• Opening the Blueprints panel in 0.11 or later converts your saved blueprints to the new format, and converted blueprints cannot be opened by earlier versions of the game.
• 0.11 added filtering of outdated blueprints, so layouts made against old furniture sets stop surfacing in-game. The date column below is the same signal from the outside: a green dot means the author has published since 1.0 shipped.

How this page is kept

• Sources: titles, subscriber counts, dates and tags from Valve’s Workshop API, captured on 1 September 2026. The building code and business type on each row are the tags the author set.
• Scope: per business type, the thirty most-subscribed blueprints — one Workshop page. No preview images and no furniture lists: both belong to their authors, and the Workshop page a row links to has them.
• Checked: at least once a fortnight. The build refuses to publish this page if that check falls more than 30 days behind.
