Big Ambitions Patch Notes and Update Tracker

Every Big Ambitions build since the 1.0 release, what each one changed, and why searching for a version number like 1.0.1 finds nothing.

Official sourcesCurrent for 1.0 Build 3672

GamePrimer EditorialUpdated Verified

The current version is 1.0 Build 3672, shipped on 1 Sept 2026.

Big Ambitions left Early Access on 28 August 2026 and got its first fix wave four days later. This page tracks what each build after 1.0 changed, with a link out to the announcement it came from. It does not reproduce the patch notes — they are worth reading in full on Steam, and the link on every entry goes straight to them.

Every build since 1.0

  1. 1.0 Build 3672

First post-launch fix wave: entering vehicles, missing Hamptons retail buildings, subway destination search, an Assign Uniforms button, and banks now telling you what you can actually borrow.

  2. 1.0

Big Ambitions left Early Access after three and a half years, adding The Hamptons as a seventh neighbourhood with buyable mansions, a private driver, food delivery, reworked banking and taxes, and three minigames.

Why “1.0.1” finds nothing

This trips up almost everyone searching for a Big Ambitions patch, and it is not a bug:

  • Hovgaard numbers builds, not point releases. The patch after 1.0 is called 1.0 Build 3672 — not 1.0.1. The number is a build counter that has been running since Early Access, which is why it jumps from the last EA build in the 3500s straight into the 3600s. If you search for a dotted version number you will find nothing, because one was never published.
  • The 1.0 build itself has no number. The launch announcement never states which build shipped on 28 August. It is simply “1.0”, so that is how it is listed above.
  • The build counter is not sequential across announcements. Early Access posts covered two or three builds at once (EA 0.11 Build 3538 / 3539), and Hovgaard only posts about builds worth posting about. A gap in the numbering is not a missing patch note.

What the 1.0 build itself added

The launch build was not a version bump on the last Early Access patch. Hovgaard published the feature list two weeks ahead of release, then confirmed it on the day:

Added in 1.0 Detail
The Hamptons A seventh neighbourhood: mostly residential, with a luxury retail strip and buyable mansions, some in gated communities with a private dock
Private driver A contract with Onyx Luxury Chauffeurs. Leave any vehicle in their garage and summon a driver instead of finding a taxi
Speedy Bites Food delivery to any home or business — and a way to earn early money by running deliveries yourself
Banking Negative interest removed. Loans need more income and carry higher rates and minimum daily payments, but Vantander’s maximum went up and partial repayment is now allowed
Investments Daily auto-investing, more detailed growth information, and partial withdrawals without closing the account
Taxes More deductions, a 10% late fee, partial payments, and next year’s estimate shown inside Econoview
Minigames Three of them: Brick Breaker on a home computer, plus the Halcyon Fairway driving range and the A Racket of Love tennis court, both for Hamptons homeowners
Furniture New furniture sets for both homes and businesses
HQ Pricing Manager A new employee who updates the price of every item across a whole neighbourhood at once. Higher-skilled ones suggest the day’s best prices

The roadmap page has the full 1.0 block as the studio drew it before release.

What Hovgaard says is still broken

Worth recording because it is the most-reported problem of launch week, and because it is a stated commitment rather than a community rumour. In the Build 3672 notes, Hovgaard wrote that they are looking into why some players see FPS drops and choppy gameplay, and that a fix is coming in a later patch. That patch has not shipped as of 1 September 2026.

How this page is kept

Worth stating plainly, because an update tracker that quietly goes stale is worse than none at all:

  • Sources: Hovgaard’s Steam announcements, linked individually per build rather than to the feed they sit in. Nothing else.
  • Scope: one line per announced build since 1.0, plus the systems it touched. Early Access builds are not listed — the game they patched is not the game you are running. Full notes stay on Steam.
  • Checked: on every build, and at least once a fortnight otherwise. The build refuses to publish this page if that check falls more than 30 days behind.

Every other Big Ambitions page here carries the build it was written against. When this tracker moves ahead of one of them, that page starts saying so on its own.
