All 27 Sephiria costumes grouped by how you actually unlock them, with the stat each one gives, the price it charges, and what it starts you with.

There are 27 costumes. A costume is not a skin — each one changes your stats, most charge you something for what they give, and eight of them hand you an Artifact or Tablet before the run starts. The table below is grouped by how you unlock it, because that is the part that decides what you go and do tonight.

Read the grouping before you read the rows

Every other costume list is sorted by name, which hides the only thing that changes your evening. “Reach 50 Fire Damage” is something you can chase in the next twenty minutes. “Defeat 300 moles” is a fortnight of ordinary play that happens whether you aim at it or not. “Own Dungreed on Steam” is not a game action at all. Sorted alphabetically those three sit next to each other looking identical.

So the table is grouped instead:

  • Available from the start — eight costumes, no condition.
  • Reach a number inside one run — the largest group, and the one to raid if you want a new costume tonight. The condition resets when the run ends.
  • Reach a point in the story — one costume, and it arrives on its own as you clear chapters.
  • Clear a run a particular way — you have to finish, under a constraint you commit to before you start.
  • Kills and events that add up across runs — these carry between runs, so dying costs you nothing here but time.
  • Outside the game — one costume, and no amount of play reaches it.

Where these come from, and where they do not

TEAM HORAY has never published a single unlock condition. Not one of the 27. That is worth saying at the top rather than in a footnote, because it means every unlock cell on this page is community-sourced — from Kean’s Sephiria Compendium and from the Japanese community wiki at wikiwiki.jp, checked against each other row by row.

On 25 of the 27 the two sources describe the same condition, and those rows carry no marker. They are not identical sentences — one source is in Japanese and the two phrase things differently — so what “agree” means here is that they name the same requirement, not that they use the same words. The 2 where they do not agree are marked in the table itself, with both readings printed and attributed, so you can see exactly what is in dispute:

  • Mole — both say 300 cumulative kills, and they disagree about which moles count.
  • Turtle — only Kean records a condition at all. The Japanese wiki’s cell is blank, and it is the only blank cell in its table.

White Wolf used to be on that list and is not any more, which is worth showing rather than quietly fixing. Kean said “defeat the Pillager Leader five times”; the Japanese wiki said “defeat Rataka, chief of the Pigsissi, five times”. Two different bosses, apparently. Then a Steam achievement guide turned up naming both in a single phrase — the Grassland boss, Pillager Leader “Rataka” — so one source had given the role and the other the proper name. They had agreed all along. The row now carries both names and no dispute marker.

Effects are a different matter, and better supplied. TEAM HORAY has changed the effect of a named costume in its patch notes 9 times, and those rows carry an Effect confirmed by TEAM HORAY link in the table that opens the announcement itself. Every other effect on this page is community-sourced.

TEAM HORAY names a costume in its notes when it changes one, not to describe it. The only other mention so far is a bug fix: 1.0.33 stopped a certain weapon from removing Scholar Lizard’s effect, which changes nothing about what the costume does. Six of the nine are below; the other three are the elemental trio, handled after the table because they all took the same change.

Three of these did not tune a number. They replaced the stat line outright, so what the costume used to do is simply gone:

Costume What changed Version
Orange Rabbit Max HP +10 / Max MP −15 became Debuff Damage +14% / Defense −8 1.0
White Rabbit Normal Attack +8% / Special Attack −5% became Special Attack +12%, Max MP +8, Evasion −15 1.0
Skeleton Revive +2 / Healing Curse 50% became damage dealt amplified by 20% 1.0
Scholar Lizard “MP does not decrease” became “Max MP is fixed at 80, and MP does not decrease” 0.10.6
Red-Hooded Rabbit MP Recovery Efficiency +100% / Max MP −20 became +50% / −10 0.10.6
Red Fox Healing Amount −50% became Healing Curse: healing received reduced by 50% 0.901.0

The remaining three — Frog, Red-Clothed Cat and Wizard Bunny — took one identical change at 1.0, which is why they sit together rather than as three rows. All three went from +5 to each elemental damage, −5 to opposing elemental damage to each elemental damage amplified +15%, Physical Damage amplified −20%. That is a shift from flat numbers to multipliers, and it changes what they are worth: a flat +5 mattered most early, a +15% multiplier matters most late.

Any guide still quoting Orange Rabbit as a Max HP costume, or these three as flat +5 costumes, was written before 1.0 and never revisited.

The three costumes that break the rules

Scholar Lizard answers a question a lot of people arrive with. Its Max HP is fixed at 20 and its Max MP is fixed at 80 — fixed, not modified. Levels, Artifacts and Tablets cannot move either number. That sounds like a pure penalty until you notice the other half of TEAM HORAY’s own sentence: MP does not decrease. You have a small pool you never spend from. It also means every Max HP penalty elsewhere in the game costs you nothing while you wear it, and every MP-scaling Artifact does nothing.

Wingless Bat fixes your Dash Points at 1. Again fixed, not reduced by one — no upgrade raises it back.

Ghost makes Grimoires cost 0 MP. Not cheaper. Zero.

Those three are the reason this page stores a value’s meaning alongside its number. A table that treats every figure as a plus-or-minus prints “−1 Dash Points” for Wingless Bat and “+0 MP” for Ghost, and both of those are a different claim from the true one.

Appearance variants are cosmetic, and they are gated

Twenty-six costumes have two alternate appearances, at 30 and 100 Sapphires. These change how you look and nothing else — they are not extra costumes and they do not stack another stat line on top.

They are also locked behind the basement node in the Destiny Inscription, which sits at tier 10 and costs 10 Sapphires. Until you buy that, the variants do not exist for you. You can work out when you can afford it on the Destiny Inscription Planner.

TEAM HORAY said at 1.0.24 that it had “added appearance variants to 7 costumes” without naming which seven, and no community source has pinned them down either — so this page does not guess. Three 30-Sapphire variant names are recorded (Blue-Hooded Rabbit, Black Rabbit, Black Wolf); the rest of those slots are priced but unnamed in both sources, and the table says so rather than inventing names.

One recorded name has been left out on purpose. Kean’s sheet gives White Wolf’s 100-Sapphire variant as “White Rabbit” — which is the name of a separate costume in the same list. That does not prove the sheet is wrong, but a duplicated name is a good reason to suspect a row slipped, and there is no second source to check it against. It is withheld rather than printed with a caveat.

One bug worth knowing about

Until 1.0.30, changing costume while your inventory was full could lose you a Tablet outright. TEAM HORAY fixed it on 20 August 2026. If you swapped costumes a lot before then and could never account for a missing Tablet, that is where it went.
