How to Find Secret Rooms in Sephiria

The tell

Secret rooms are not marked on the map and there is no detection mechanic to unlock. The only signal is the wall art itself: a hidden passage puts fine cracks in the wall, and they show up most often along its upper edge rather than across the middle of the face.

This is a scanning habit, not a puzzle. Clear the room, then run your eye along the tops of the walls before you take the exit. Once you know what you are looking for it takes a couple of seconds a room, and it is the cheapest free loot in the game.

Opening one

Approach the cracked section and attack it. That is the whole interaction — the wall breaks and a notification tells you that you have found a secret room.

Then the odd part: the room appears on your map, but the passage into it does not. If you leave and come back, the map will show a room floating with no visible connection to anything. That is the expected behaviour, not a bug, and it is why people who found one earlier in a run sometimes cannot work out how they got in.

What is inside

Contents vary. Reported rewards include:

• A money box
• An Artifact or Tablet pick
• Dice
• A rare potion box
• Bonus experience

It is a reward room, not a challenge room — there is no fight waiting on the other side of the wall.

Where this is worth the time

Secret rooms sit inside ordinary nodes, so they are not something you route towards on the map screen. The practical rule is to check walls in rooms you are already standing in, and to spend a little longer looking on floors where you have picked a node with nothing else going on. A node with a mini boss or an altar already pays out; a plain combat room is where a secret is the whole value of the detour.
